Steel Cut Oatmeal

Soak the oats in ~2 Cups of water for between 6 and 24 hours.
drain the water, and add 2 cups water and salt.
bring to a boil and boil on low bubble for ~5 minutes.
add cranberries
continue to boil for another 5 minutes (roughtly 10 total)
taste for mouth feel/consistancy (do you like it crunchcy or sqishy?)
Turn off heat and add butter, stirring until it's melted, then syrup, and milk.
Eat.

The salt, butter, syrup, milk, and craisins are all "to taste", but that's what I like.
