Subject: Cooperian Shit Spreader Revisited

All morning long, I've been listening to the happy sounds of the DPW at work. Archetypical sounds of summer, men at work putting the world to right before the winter. Shouts of happiness, thumping tools, the good sound of gas-fired machinery working in the manner in which it was intended. A muffled "bloop!" coming from beneath my feet in the basement.

One of these sounds is not a good sound.

I have discovered that there is a certain valve required on pipes below street level. This prevents the contents of the sewer, under heavy pressure from the cleaning machinery, coming for a visit in your basement. By the process of deduction, I have determined that our washing machine drain does not have such a valve. It wasn't hard. A spray of human feces runs up the wall and in a 10 foot circle around the pipe. The adjoining basement has about an inch of standing water. It stinks to high heaven.

Ew.

As disgusting as this is, and as grossed out as I am, it must have been a sight to behold......

I'm leaving this one to the professionals, thank you very much.
