A number of years ago, Steven had just heard the joke that goes: "A man goes up to woman in a bar and says 'Want to pick up a six pack, go back to my place and fuck?' After she slaps him he says 'What's the matter, don't you like beer?'" Being the sort of person he is, Steven thought it would be hilarious to act this out. So, the next time we were in a bar, he picked some woman at random walked up to her and said "Want to pick up a six pack, go back to my place and fuck?" The trouble is, her response was "Sure." Steven spent the next several seconds standing with his mouth open thinking, "hey, you didn't pick up your cue!" and eventually mumbled something and fled. This story has a coda. A few months later, Steven was telling the story on himself, and when he got to the end, Reed piped up with "Steve, if she can't take a joke, fuck her."
