From the close pictures you can see that the slider is custom fit to the SV650, the sliders themselves fit inside the cutouts on the frame, and fit rather well. This is a nice touch.

The bolt goes all the way through the engine, also nice.

The replacement "bolt" isn't a bolt, it's a long rod with threaded ends, two nuts, and two washers. The only thing I was wary of was that the nuts on both ends would get all their threads over the rod. There was no problem, and I didn't have to do anything heroic to get it more or less centered.

You can (almost) see from the inside pictures that there's lots of extra rod, so both nuts have at least 1/4" sticking out outside the nuts.
